Lennox Head Day View Club, February 2019

The first meeting for the year of the Lennox Head VIEW Club was held on 4 February 2019. Our president welcomed all present at the meeting and after short monthly meeting was closed it was followed by our AGM.

Our AGM was conducted by our National Councillor Rosie McDermott who named all the nominees for the committee and conducted the election. Congratulations were given to newly elected president Enid Noble and the committee for 2019.

The VIEW Club luncheon takes place at Club Lennox on the first Monday of each month, when members meet to hold short meeting and host the guest speaker.

Our speaker for the March meeting is Susan Perrow, celebrating International Woman’s Day. The theme for IWD is Balance for Better. 

Guests are welcome to come along and to bring a friend as Susan has great credentials as a speaker, story teller, teacher trainer and parent educator.

Currently Lennox VIEW Club supports three Learning for Life students. VIEW is the largest community sponsor of disadvantaged Australian students through The Smith Family and supports the work of the children’s education charity. Across Australia there are over 15,000 VIEW members who actively fund raise and volunteer for The Smith Family. Many of them have seen first hand how the charity’s long-term educational support is transforming the lives of children  and setting them on the pathway out of poverty. Their efforts help sponsor more then 1300 disadvantaged students, providing financial support for education essentials such as uniforms , books and excursions, personal support from Smith Family  team member and access to a range of out-of-school learning and mentoring programs. 

The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps disadvantaged young Australians to succeed at school, so they can create better future for themselves while the VIEW stands for the Voice, Interests and Education of Women. It is one of Australia’s leading women’s volunteer organisations and support networks. It empowers women to have voices heard on issues of importance fro the future well being of Australian society.
