Three Lennox Head artists, Natalie Grono, Narelle Bretherton and Kathleen Browne will show their work at the Northern Rivers Community Gallery next month.
Kathleen’s work captures the subtle, often overlooked, hidden patterns and landscapes on the walls and fences in Lennox Head.
Natalie’s work is a photo documentation of the female surfers who surf in the town of Lennox Head. The female surfing community of this small town is increasingly flourishing, forming a rite of passage and sisterhood that ranges from grandmothers, mothers, daughters, sisters and friends. This body of work focuses on the females that form this community and the landscapes and waves that unite them.
Narelle’s realist paintings are a nod to the old Lennox of fibreglass shacks and pastel colours, an attempt to preserve the memories of some of original dwellings of early Lennox Head. The paintings evoke nostalgic sense of place.
Everyone is welcome to the opening on September 27, from 5.30.
