Ballina Shire Council is about to embark on a major upgrade of the intersection of Ross Lane and Byron Bay Road, Lennox Head.
Due to the high volumes of traffic that use the intersection, the first stage of works will be completed at night to limit the impact on the commuters and to increase safety for Council workers. Night works on the project are anticipated commence at 6pm Sunday 18 February and run through to early morning from February to April (weather permitting).
The Roads and Maritime Service (RMS) identified this intersection as a black spot under their ‘safer roads’ initiative and allocated $2 million to the upgrade.
Council wishes to thank residents in advance for their patience during the works, and apologises for any inconvenience. These works are necessary to make this arterial road and intersection safer for the community.
