Anne Moon will be the Keynote Speaker at an Event organised by the Ballina Region for Refugees Inc. on Wednesday 6th December 2017 at Cherry Street Sports Club, Meeting Room from 2:30pm to 3:30pm.
Anne Moon has spent decades as a volunteer helping various vulnerable people all over the world. Anne’s focus now is on the plight of the refugees on Manus Island. She has championed their cause & has been active in calling for Offshore Detention to stop. She has played an active role in assisting many refugees with respect to their medical & legal needs.
Anne is a sensitive, highly intelligent and engaging speaker. Her presentation “Life on Manus” explores the conditions that men have been living in for the last 4-5 years. She has first hand experiences to share, having visited Manus Island on a number of occasions. She also intends to share some individual stories of the men where they came from, why they fled & how they have coped.
