At the first meeting of the Lennox Head VIEW Club the new committee was inducted with Carole Brown as the Club President. At this gathering the Club’s Annual General Meeting was conducted and members were entertained by Enid Noble who read some of her very amusing poetry.
Members will shortly be travelling to Tenterfield for a country weekend, to enjoy the beautiful autumn colours that the town has to offer at this time of the year and to attend the ‘Oracles of the Bush’.
VIEW members are looking forward to Enid presenting some of her poetry at the Sunday morning “Poets Brawl’ event in Jubilee Park. Throughout the year a number of day trips have been arranged and for each club meeting interesting speakers and entertainers have been organised.
Each month an informal ‘Coffee and Chat’ meeting is held often under the trees on the shores of Lake Ainsworth. The Club sponsors two Learning for Life students and supports the educational programs of The Smith Family that aims to help disadvantaged Australian children make the most that they are able to from their education.
Lennox Head VIEW Club meets on the first Monday of each month at Club Lennox for a luncheon meeting and new members are most warmly welcomed. For more information please ring Dawn on 6687 4328.
