Moving into its 5th year, the much-loved Byron Bay Surf Festival is back from 24 – 26 February 2017. The festival is for everyone who loves surf culture & community, not just for surfers.
Lennox Head local Nicole Sullivan who is the festival’s Social & Community Manager is proud to be associated with the BBSF. “I jumped at the chance to be involved with this festival. It focuses on the importance of nurturing our precious environment and although I am not a surfer I have spent the last 29 years with one and this has given me an enormous love and respect for our great oceans.”
The festival’s primary mission is to showcase, support, grow and evolve surf culture, ultimately educating the wider community to move towards a more sustainable and regenerative industry and lifestyle… with the motto “In This Together”.
Alongside Nicole, BBSF is supported by a big group of our very own Lennox Head Ocean Warriors including: Female Board shaper, Hannah Magnall, Dead Kooks owner, Eden Saul, Shaper & Surfer Joel Fitzgerald, Chrystal Dawn, and locally based businesses Boatchannel Boardracks, Xanthia Vintage, Seven Seas, Shark Watch NSW, Mentawai Surf Lodge, Eco Mama, Let’s Celebrate Health and Lennox Point regular – Surfer and activist Dave Rastovich.
BBSF co-director, respected ecologist and music tour manager, Max Tischler, said “whether attendees love surf, art, literature, music, fashion, conservation or community spirit – everyone who is inspired by the ocean will be welcomed with open arms at our event”.
