A new festival coming to Lismore will turn Magellan Street into a bustling street food strip and open-air beer garden for an afternoon/evening of delicious food and live music.
Eat the Street is the brainchild of Lismore City Centre Manager Jason Mumford, who wants to transform the city centre with a food fiesta that capitalises on the current popularity of world street food.
Restaurant owners from the Lismore CBD and further afield have been invited to leave their regular menus in the kitchen and cook a street food dish that reflects their culture and the very essence of what they love about food.
Eat the Street will run from midday until 8pm on Saturday, 14 March, with a special children’s area, street theatre performances, street game competitions such as handball, table tennis and other fun activities as well as a cooking stage with a celebrity chef doing live street food demonstrations.
There is no entry fee and plenty of action-packed family fun. For more information, visit www.cometotheheart.com.au.
