The 2014 Far North Coast rugby season is just around the corner and preparations for another big year are well underway in Lennox Head.
The Trojans have enjoyed a lot of success over recent years in both senior and junior grades, with the highlight being five consecutive first grade premierships between 2008 and 2012.
“The Seniors have been sweating it out in training since late January, with good numbers in attendance and plenty of energy and enthusiasm amongst the boys,” said Club President, Paul Crozier.
“The Under 18 competition has been reinstated and we are excited to have this really important age group aboard for the 2014 season. This group will play on Saturday afternoons as part of the senior club.”
The Trojans are excited to be hosting the North Coast U15’s and U17’s ARU Junior Gold Cup games against Western Australia on Sunday, 9 March. The first game kicks off at 1pm.
The Trojans kick off the new season on the road against Yamba on Saturday, 5 April with the first home game against Bangalow the following Saturday. Sign-on took place during February but new players are always welcome.
Junior ‘Trojans in Training’ have always been an important part of the club and this season will be no different.
Juniors can register on Wednesday 5 March between 5 and 6pm at Williams Reserve. All players from under 7’s upwards are welcome, with games held on Friday nights. For further details, contact the club’s Junior’s Coordinator, Richard Walkom, on 0414 881 684.
