Lennox Lions Club

The John Mitchell Annual Charity Golf Day was a great success with some surprises thrown in for good measure such as Josh Souer’s hole in one and Aaron MacDonald’s enormous hole-out in the putting competition. Matt Tancred’s team won the overall team event but just about every player went home with something to show for their day out.Thank you to every player in the 34 teams who took part and supported us on the day. Thanks must also go to Ballina Golf Club,East Ballina Lions Club for all their help and to the non-member supporters who lent us a hand to make the event such a success. Big thanks go to our major sponsors Huawei Technologies, Specsavers Ballina, Kevin Geaghan Funerals, Barbeques Galore Lismore, Diageo, East Coast Polyurethanes and to well over 50 local businesses who will be thanked personally for their assistance. The major raffle of a barbeque was won by Dennis Finn of East Ballina. Our club raised over $11000 which will help support the Cancer Council Relay for Life as well as the Lennox Head Alstonville Surf Life Saving Club. Finally, we understand that this will be the 100th issue of the Lennox Wave. Lennox Head Lions congratulates the Wave on reaching this great milestone and we thank the staff for their ongoing support of our club.
