From Brad Pollard, Lennox Head Chamber of Commerce
Following a deputation to Council by our Chamber President Zain Peart, Council has voted unanimously to begin the community engagement phase of the Lennox Head Village Centre Renewal Project. Council will now begin the preparation of materials and activities that will engage the Lennox Head community and gather feedback on key issues and preferred concept ideas.
The town centres of Ballina, Alstonville and Wardell have all benefited from similar renewal projects and the Chamber welcomes this important next phase in the project.
The community engagement phase will help inform community discussions and future planning options associated with roads and footpaths, parks and open spaces, streetscape character and design, integration of shop fronts with the main street and increasing main street vibrancy.
The community engagement phase is likely to start in late February 2018 and involve meetings with community groups, an online survey and public displays.
The Chamber will shortly be holding an event for the local businesses of Lennox to give us their opinion on what they would like to see happen. To receive an invitation to this event, sign up to our newsletter on our website or become a member and receive the full range of benefits – membership costs less than a cup of coffee a week.
