The No Sand Mines For Lennox group has organised an information session for the public to learn more about a 3.6million tonne sand mine planned just behind Lennox Head.
They claim the impacts of this mine will be problematic for local residents with ‘thousands and thousands of extra trucks and pollution to our rivers and groundwater.’
If you are concerned about the mine you can attend the public meeting in the CWA Hall (1 Mackney Lane behind the Community Centre) on Monday February 19 at 5.30 pm.
Organisers say their first goal is to ‘get as many submissions against this development as possible’. Deadline for submissions closes 26th February.
