November 10 will be a big day for local business Anchor Chief and the McGregor family — Grant, Nez and their 2 girls Dana and Sofie — when they welcome the local community to their brand new premises in the Boulevard Arcade opposite the IGA.
From 3.30 there will be music, some nibblies and drinks, plus 20% off everything for everyone who drops in. As we go to print, the shop is being fitted out, and according to Grant and Nez, the new place will be ‘stunning’.
After a year in a smaller premises at the other end of town, Grant says the time was right to seize the opportunity to move to a larger space — in fact, 50 square metres larger — where the Anchor Chief team can properly showcase the variety and quality of contemporary street and surf wear and accessories they have in store.
‘We also think it’s a better location, with more passing traffic. With the larger space we’ll be able to have a designated skate area and surf section. Plus we’ll be able to broaden the children’s and giftware ranges, and just display everything a lot more effectively,’ says Grant.
‘We’re really excited for the possibilities that the new premises will offer and we hope to exhibit local art, and maybe even hold events and launches.’
Drop in and check the new place out.
