David Greiner lost his adored wife Christine to brain cancer in 2015. Every year since he has run this community event—Walk 4 Brain Cancer— to raise funds for brain cancer research, and in memory of his wife.
The 21km run/walk is hugely popular among locals and is considered one of the best tracks in the Northern Rivers. The start is along seven mile beach then the middle is a hill run over a dirt road to Broken Head, then once again along the beach to Cosy Corner then finish on the esplanade along Byron Bay’s main beach.
