The September round for Leba Boardriders saw tricky conditions at the point greet competitors still in the running on this year’s leader board. A strong sweep made wave selection difficult and those who found a good wave in amongst the crowd tended to win their heats.
Jai Glindeman in the Cadets, Gordon Ramsey in the Juniors, Woody in the Opens, Ben Sattler in the Seniors, Glen Curtis in the Masters and Tony O’Brien in the Legends all found ‘gems in the rough’ to take the wins.
In the Junior Leba September round a solid swell challenged the groms in front of the pub with Ocea Curtis in the fleas, Mia Baker in the Micros, Keenan Crisp in the Groms all taking on the big waves to secure 1st places the their divisions.
The last couple of months have seen some terrific results by Leba Juniors in representative competitions. Jai Glindeman became our latest State champion taking out the under 14 boys NSW State Title and Nyxie Ryan & Kobi Curtis took home the NSW schools MR shield title for the under 16 girls.
In the Kirra Junior Teams comp both the Leba boys & girls teams finished a respectable 4th after seesawing lead changes between the best surfing clubs in Australia.
The final result came right down the wire with only a couple of points between 1st and 4th.
