Ratana and Ta (pictured below) are Thai nationals who both trained in massage in their homeland.
The women didn’t know each other in Thailand and moved to Australia separately, where they have continued their work as massage therapists, practicing the unique relaxing traditional style of massage they learned at home.
Traditional Thai massage is an age-old practice with a thousand year tradition in Thailand, originally developed in Thai temples and enjoyed by Thai royalty. Thai massage has its roots in Buddhism, Thailand’s national religion, and was influenced by the ancient Indian Ayurveda integrated with Chinese practices. It combines acupressure, aromatherapy, Indian Ayurvedic principles, and relaxation techniques.
Ratana and Ta offer a range of massages from deep pressure massage, to foot massage and head neck and shoulder massage. They also use a variety of oils, herbs and aromatherapy, and offer massage appointments that range from 30 minutes to 2 hours. See the Lily Thai Massage ad on page 24.
