The Lennox Head VIEW Club opened the new year with a trip to Summerland House Alstonville for an informal Coffee and Chat morning. Members wearing their distinctive purple and white uniforms caught up on festive season news and happenings since their last meeting in December when they held a Christmas luncheon at Club Lennox and were entertained by the Rainbow Harmony singing group from Casino.
Donations were made at this meeting from which pamper packs were made up and together with toys and books for the children, these were given to the Hope Haven Women’s and Children’s Refuge in Ballina for Christmas.
The Lennox Head VIEW Club meets on the first Monday of the month for a luncheon meeting at Club Lennox which includes a guest speaker or entertainer.
Plans are in place to celebrate International Women’s Day in March when the speaker will be Caroline Pinter from Alstonville, who will relate her story of how she and her family escaped from Rumania when it was invaded by Russia.
In April a three day two night trip has been organised to Tenterfield for the Oracles of the Bush festival. The first Club meeting will be at Club Lennox on Monday 6 February. New members and guests are most warmly welcomed as are members of the community that may be interested in joining the Tenterfield trip. For details please ring Dawn 6687 4328.
