LeBa, Sept 16

Its been a mixed bag of conditions for Leba surfers over the last couple of rounds in July and August. Despite pretty small waves there was

once again some outstanding surfing on show. In the Fleas Woody Webster continued his good run with a 1st in July and a 2nd in August with Shay Buffery

scoring a 1st in the August round. Harry O’brien and Dembe Ryan traded 1st and 2nd places for the two rounds and Nyxie Ryan showed up the boys in the cadets taking out both rounds.

In the juniors Finley James has been unstoppable and continued his winning form with 1st places in both rounds. James Wood wound the clock back to upstage the field in the opens for the August round and Aeran Thomas kept his chances alive for a place in the final standings with a 1st in the July round.

In the Masters Toby Ratcliff got the better of Glen Curtis in July with Glen reversing the placings in August.

The July and August rounds came on the back of some great results for the LeBa juniors in both the Skullcandy OZ Grom Open and the NSW State Titles.

Nyxie Ryan continues to turn heads with a strong 2nd place in the final of under 14 girls in the Skullcandy. Also worthy of mention was Micky McDonagh, equal 5th in the ProJunior, Jack Obrien (6th place) and Rino Lindsay (7th place) in the under 12s of the Skullcandy and Jai Glinderman scored a 6th in the State Titles.

These results are looking good as we head into the Kirra Junior Teams Challenge to be held on the Gold Coast in September.
